Why I Started TypeDelta: The Frustration That Sparked It
Like many developers and writers, I spend between 8 to 12 hours every day behind a mechanical keyboard. Typing isn't just a daily task for me—it is the physical bridge connecting thoughts in my head to lines of running software.
A few months ago, while warming up my hands before a long programming session, I was hopping between popular typing speed websites. But instead of entering a productive flow state, I kept getting pulled out of it by three deeply frustrating problems:

How We Accurately Calculate Your Speed (WPM)
Have you ever wondered why your typing speed changes depending on which website you use? Some sites calculate speed by simply counting any space-separated word—meaning typing "a" counts the same as typing "extraterrestrial".

If you type 500 characters in one minute with zero mistakes, your speed is 100 WPM (500 ÷ 5).
